Where creativity meets structure, and every project tells a different story
Look, we didn't start out thinking we'd be this go-to firm for contemporary design in Toronto. Back in 2011, it was just three of us crammed into a tiny office on Queen Street West, fueled by terrible coffee and this stubborn belief that architecture could be different – less stuffy, more real.
The name? Yeah, everyone asks about that. "Flame Realm" came from a late-night brainstorming session where we realized we wanted every space we touched to have that spark – that thing that makes you walk in and just feel something. Sounds a bit dramatic, maybe, but it stuck.
Fast forward to today, we're a team of 22 designers, architects, and project managers working out of Bay Street. Same passion though, just better coffee and way more square footage to spread out in.
Mission statements usually sound like corporate nonsense, so here's the real deal on how we approach every project that lands on our desk.
Pretty pictures aren't enough. We're obsessed with spaces that actually function the way people live and work – not just how they photograph.
We'll actually listen to what you want instead of forcing some trendy concept down your throat. Your space, your vision – we're just here to make it happen.
It's 2025 – building green isn't optional anymore. We bake sustainability into everything from the jump, not as an add-on.
We get it – delays and overruns are brutal. Our project management team's kind of crazy about timelines and budgets in the best way possible.
The folks behind the drafting tables and site visits
Founding Principal
Started sketching buildings on napkins at age 7 and somehow turned that into a career. Handles most residential projects and has this weird talent for knowing exactly what clients want before they do.
Lead Commercial Architect
Spent 8 years at a big corporate firm before joining us in 2016. Now she runs our commercial division and won't shut up about adaptive reuse projects – in the best way.
Sustainability Director
Our resident green building geek. If there's a new eco-friendly material or certification, David's already tested it. Makes sustainability actually achievable instead of just aspirational.
We've been around for 14 years now, and honestly, we're still a bit surprised every time someone picks up the phone and says they want us on their project. But there's probably a reason why we've completed over 300 residential and commercial builds across the GTA.
Maybe it's because we treat every project – whether it's a 500 sq ft condo reno or a 50,000 sq ft commercial build – like it actually matters. Because it does. These are the spaces where people are gonna live their lives or build their businesses.
